Lawyer Jantuah has expressed pessimism over the government’s ability to change the telling trajectory of the elections, ahead of the mid-year budget review.
The vociferous energy analyst insists that he cannot expect any massive changes to economic policies
Ahead of the mid-year budget review in parliament, some sections of Ghanaians are demanding that the government scrapped some taxes and levies, including the E-levy, Sanitation levy and others.
But speaking on GHOne Morning Show, Mr. Jantuah asked that the
‘‘They will keep the status quo. I do not see them rocking the boat,’’ he added.\
Although Mr. Jantuah do not think a lot of changes will occur in budgeting especially given the imminence of the elections, he insists government could intervene to make food more affordable.
The Minister of Finance is expected to read the mid-year budget review in parliament later in the day. This will be his first major budget review, after taking over as Finance Minister from Mr. Ken Ofori-Atta.
