On July 27, 2025, a 41-year-old man disrupted an EasyJet flight (EZY609) from London Luton to Glasgow, prompting an emergency landing at Glasgow Airport around 8:20 AM.

The man allegedly shouted “Allahu Akbar,” claimed to have a bomb, and yelled “Death to America” and “Death to Trump” mid-flight, causing panic among passengers. Videos circulating online show him standing in the aisle, raising his hands, and making these threats after emerging from the aircraft’s toilet. Passengers, including a Scottish traveler, tackled and restrained him until the plane landed.

Police Scotland arrested the man upon arrival, and counter-terrorism officers are assessing the incident. A search confirmed no explosives were present. The man reportedly claimed his actions were to “send a message to Trump,” who was in Scotland at the time.

EasyJet emphasized that the safety of passengers and crew was never compromised, praising the crew’s swift response. The suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.
