One of the members of the National Cathedral board of trustees, Dr. Joyce Aryee, has expressed her displeasure in the government’s reluctance to keep on paying salaries because the project has been paused.
She is of the opinion that even though the work has halted, it does not mean that her team would not visit the project again.
At T.D Jakes’ divinity summit, the reverend minister lamented on the recent comments being passed by Ghanaians about the National Cathedral.
“If a project is on hold, it doesn’t mean that the people in charge are not working to keep it going. I am surprised at the demeaning comments and I don’t want to even talk about them. I can’t believe how someone can build an organization and decide not to fund the other aspects, just because one part has been halted.”
The summit was held in collaboration with T.D Jakes divinity school, aiming at educating the public about other aspects of what a cathedral stands for.
Dr. Paul Opoku-Mensah, the Executive Director for the National Cathedral project remarked :
“This symposium is the National Cathedral’s response to what we term as the return initiatives, offering a pathway meditated by faith in connecting Ghana to the African diaspora.”
