Mr. Albert Kwabena Dwumfourh has congratulated the Institute of Public Relations Ghana on her Golden Jubilee Anniversary.
He called on media practitioners to be ethical in their conduct and utterances as Ghana heads to the polls in December.
Mr. Dwumfourh outlined several measures the Ghana Journalist Association is implementing to ensure that its members were ethical and decorous before, during and after the elections.
He warned that as this is an election year, any unethical statements could be explosive, disturbing the peace that we enjoy as a nation.
‘‘If you are not committed to the cause of journalists, don’t patronize us,’’ he stated.
He made the call in a solidarity message at the Institute of Public Relations’ 50th Anniversary in Accra yesterday.
Held at the Accra City Hotel, the event brought together public relations professionals to deliberate on their achievements and challenges over the years.
The event also saw the investiture of the institute’s new management for the next two years.
The event was attended by some high profile individuals including, Hon. Sylvester Tetteh, Deputy Minister of Information; Michael Kofi Twum Boafo, Communications Specialist at the Office of the President; Albert Dwumfour, President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) and John Awuah, CEO of the Ghana Association of Banks.
