Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, the selected vice-presidential candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party, is set to be unveiled on Tuesday, July 09 2024 in Kumasi.
He noted NAPO will be presented to the overlord of the Ashanti Kingdom, Otumfour Osei Tutu II and the Asanteman Council.
He added that an offical unveiling will further be done at the Jubille Park in Kumasi.
This announcement was made by the Member of Parliament Hopeful for the Akuapem
North Constituency, Sammy Awuku, who doubles as a campaign Manager for Dr. Bawumia
He discounted claims that some party members have, noted that as a democratic party some of this disagreement is not surprising.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Hot Story, Sammy Awuku hailed the virtues of Dr. Opoku Prempeh, describing his candidature as ideal for the party.
The 56-year-old Manhyia South Member of Parliament is expected to support the ruling party’s bid to retain power as it heads to the polls this December.
While many have raised concerns with his past conduct, which many have deemed as being far from presidential, some senior executives of the party insists that NAPO’s confidence and assertiveness has been misconstrued over the years.
