The Minister of Tourism, Hon. Andrew Egyapa Mercer, has touted the virtues of Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, the selected Vice-Presidential Candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party.
He described the energy minister, who he worked with as a deputy minister, as an excellent human being with an incredible work ethics.
Touting Napo’s work ethic, he stated that: ‘‘His matra is that activity is not achievement. This man’s day starts at 5:00 am and ends at 1:00am. That is the man NAPO’’, he stated.
In an interview with Joy Fm, which was strongly monitored by oyenews.com, the member of parliament for the Secondi Constituency in the Western region further parried suggestions that NAPO both arrogant and abrasive.
He noted that culturally Ghanaians tend to misconstrue assertiveness and confidence as arrogance, noting that NAPO is an excellent human being.
At a National Council meeting held on July 04 2024, the party’s echelons unanimously endorsed Dr. Bawumia’s selection of Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, as the Vice Presidential Hopeful for the party.
The announcement by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Konduah, noted that the selection followed an extensive consultation across the rank and file of the party.
He also reported that the selection of Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh was a dauting one for the flagbearer, as all the potential candidates measure up to the criteria for the selection.
