In what appears to be a quick succession announcement, President Akuffo Addo has appointed the Deputy Energy Minister, Mr Herbert Krapa as the Minister of State at the Ministry of Energy.
Reading the president’s request for approval, the Right Honorable Speaker stated said ‘’he’s writing to seek parliamentary approval for the appointment of Honourable Herbert Krapa as Minister of State at the Minister of Energy in accordance with Article 78 of the Constitution.’’
This comes days after the substantive Minister of Energy, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as NAPO, was announced as partner to Dr. Bawumia, as Vice Presidential candidate, for the ruling New Patriotic Party.
Media reports suggest that Dr. Opoku Prempeh is expected to be unveiled in Kumasi on Thursday, July 04 2024.
The party’s youth Organizer , Lwayer Nana Boakye, who announced this development, expressed optimism about the chance of Bawumia-Napo ticket.
A governance and legal expert, Krapa had served as the government spokesperson on governance issues, until he was appointed as the DEPUTY Minister of Trade and Industry
