The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has confirmed and announced that an existing Covid-19 measures would be taken to avoid spreading of the covid – 19 disease.
The (GHS), said even though there has been a fall in levels of the viral disease (Covid -19) in the country over the past months, increase in cases in China and other countries still become a concern .
According to the service, this situation calls for a full monitoring till the next decision is taken. Dr Patrick Kuma-Aboagye, on Sunday, January 1, 2023, expressed the situation in an interview.
“Ghana Health Service and the Ministry of Health are critically monitoring the situation in consultation with key stakeholders.
“We will shortly come out with our country specific measures to address the current threat of Covid–19 especially with respect to importation,” he said.
He urged Ghanaians to make sure they get themselves vaccinated to marginally curb the situation.
“Those who have taken their first dose are to go for the second dose and those who have taken their second dose are also entreated to go for the booster.
“Vaccination remains the best protection against Covid–19 infection,” he concluded.
