Asides the coronavirus variant that placed the whole world in disarray, the new monkey pox disease is said to gaining reins in the Western and Central parts of Africa, to be precise.
The World Health Organization proclaimed an outcry that the monkey pox infection could be a health threat worldwide if measures are not adhered to.
Based on the reality that this has been the second time in the year for such announcements to be made, only connotes that the situation would be a serious one.
According to the WHO outlets, the monkey pox virus has gained much roots in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo) and is spreading to other neighbouring cities.
The monkey pox is characterized into two variants namely the l variant, which is common in West and Central Africa, and the new lb variant which is contracted through physical and coital contact.
This is a wake-up call to all health organizations in Ghana to help intensify education to the masses about monkey pox, it’s fast-approaching spread, and the need to uphold the course of hygiene at all times.
