The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) has announced an upward price adjustment in the retail prices of their product.
The recommended prices are however subject to acceptance of its members.
According to the statement, the price review has been necessitated by increases in prices of fuel, vehicle spare parts and packaging materials, warning that their operations will be threated if these adjustments were not made.
Leadership of the Association decried the plethora of taxes and levies, which they say, have significantly increased their operational and production cost.
The National President of the Association, Magnus Nunoo, in a press statement noted, among other things, that sachet water will be sold at 40pesewas, while 500ml bottled water, previously sold at GHC1.00 will now be sold at GHC1.50.
Additionally, “iced sachet water will be retailed at ¢0.40. A bag of sachet water, 500ml by 30 pieces, will now sell at ¢4.50 from the retail trucks. Mini shops will now retail a bag of sachet at ¢6 per bag minimum.”
These recommended prices are to take effect from Monday, December 27, 2021.
The Association further asked the public to bear with them, as they work to sustain their business.
