About 40 students from the Krobea Asante Technical and Vocational institution in Asokoare, Ashanti Region have been detained for causing property damage to the school.
The students on Sunday morning, January 22, 2023, protested over the poor performance of their predecessors in the final exams.
About 4 vehicles were vandalized during the rampage which included a Mahindra and an Isuzu pickup trucks, a Nissan Patrol and a school bus.
A Toyota Vitz vehicle owned by the Senior House Mistress was also damaged.
The students also turned over another salon car owned by a teacher.
The school’s food storage was as well invaded which resulted in the destruction of food items and other food supplies, according to Luv News.
The students attempted to break into some teachers bungalow but failed hence, damaged part of the building.
The police intervened to restore calm on the campus.
Meanwhile, the school has been shut down upon the authorization of the Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah
