A Ghanaian based in the United States of America has been stabbed at Winneba in the Effutu Municipality of the Central Region of Ghana.
Charles Kwesi Amissah nearly cheated death after he was attacked by two unknown assailants on Friday, January 20, 2023, after he returned from working and living in the US and is now retired.
He is however in a critical condition and receiving treatment at the Winneba Special and Trauma Hospital.
Information gathered by Kasapa News’ Yaw Boagyan indicates that two young men entered his compound at Low-cost, a suburb of Winneba, and one pointed a gun at him only for him to realize after a careful look that the gun was a toy one.
In an attack to obtain his car key, he risked fighting with them which led to the other thief joining in the attack and stabbing him in the process making him helpless.
The thiefs knocked him down after he attempted to stop them from driving his V6 Toyota car away by standing behind it.
The robbers however failed to drive off because of a heap of bricks on the compound, forcing them to run away leaving the car when he shouted for help.
He was aided by some neighbors who heard his shouts and rushed to him.
The case has been reported to the Winneba Police station for an investigation.
