The Government of Ghana, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, has announced travel restrictions and arrivals from South Korea, Israel and Malta.
This forms part of efforts by the Ministry to curtail the spread of the Omicron virus.
The Ministry further notes that the Government of Ghana does not recognize any vaccination certificate from Malta.
In the case of the restrictions on Israel, the Statement avers that exceptions, may however be given for exceptional humanitarian cases or official visits.
This travel restriction is to take effect from December 20, 2021.

Omicron infections are multiplying rapidly across Europe, the United States and Asia, including in Japan where a single cluster at a military base has grown to at least 180 cases.
Ghana Health Services has directed that effective Tuesday, December 14, 2021, persons flying in and out of the country are to be fully vaccinated and to strictly follow stipulated guidelines for both self-preservation and the protection of the larger society.
