The Democratic Cup event is proving to be one of the most patronized events by high profiled officials in the country.
Pictures emerging from the event shows Mrs.Getrude Torkunu, Chief Justice; Albert Sumani Babgbin, Speaker of Parliament; Dr. George Dampare, IGP; Madam Jean Mensah, Electoral Commissioner; Mr. Akwasi Agyemang, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority, among a host of high profiled officials, in attendance.
The much-publicized event which was played at the Accra Sports Stadium, marked 30 years of successful parliamentary democracy.
Prior to the event, the Speaker of Parliament led a delegation to the Office of the President, The Chief Justice and Electoral Commission, among others, to invite them to the event.
Aside from officialdom, the event was also graced by former Black Stars players including Derek Boateng, Sule Aliu Muntari, John Paintsil, John Mensah, Kwame Ayew, Fatau Dauda and many others.
In an electrifying show of love and support, the event was also attended by footballer lovers across the country, who trooped in their numbers to support their teams on the day.
Meanwhile in the main match, Asante Kotoko beat their arch-rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak to emerge winners of the cup.
Having been victorious, the Porcupine warriors are expected to play in the United State this October, in an event which is expected to climax the Democratic Cup.
