A passenger plane has crashed with 67 people on board in Kazakhstan, local authorities say.
Preliminary reports suggest there are 25 survivors, 22 of whom have been taken to hospital, Kazakhstan’s emergency ministry said.

The plane, en route from Baku to Grozny but rerouted due to fog, was carrying a reported total of 72 individuals (67 passengers and 5 crew members). Initial reports confirm that there are survivors, with numbers varying from 6 to 12 survivors according to different sources.
The aircraft, an Embraer 190, crashed near Aktau airport, leading to a fire at the crash site. Emergency services were quick to respond, working to extinguish the fire and aid survivors.
Survivors have been taken to Mangystau Regional Hospital, with some in critical condition.
While the exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, there is mention of a possible collision with a flock of birds, although this has not been confirmed.
