Former President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his commitment to establish and promote a Women’s Bank.
According to the former president, the bank will, among others, bolster financial equality for women in the country.
Labelling the proposal as iconic, he noted that young women could take advantage of the bank to raise the capital for their businesses.
He also noted that the bank will provide training and support to assist businesses belonging to women, as part of its mandate.
He further urged the young people, especially women, to take advantage of this initiative when it becomes operational in the next NDC government.
The former President was speaking at the NDC Youth Manifesto launch at the University of Professional Studies in Accra.
The event, which coincided with the International Youth Day celebration, was attended by the rank and file of the party, with leading members taking turns to speak to the youth.
