Leadership of Organized Labor has called off its industrial action, effective Tuesday July 16 2024.

This follows an intensive close discussion among the leadership of various groups making up the union.

It is recalled that in a heated press conference on Friday, July 12, 2024, Organized labor directed workers across the country to lay off their tools.

Described as the most daring industrial action in recent history, the strike was to press home the union’s displeasure with SSNIT’s decision to divest 60% interest in four of its hotels.

After this Rock City announced its plans to back off from the deal, expressing grave misgivings about SSNIT’s handling of the public specter that had greeted the deal.

SSNIT also issued a Statement announcing its decision not to go ahead with the deal.

But at a press conference announcing the end of the strike, leadership of organized labor has given SSNIT one month period to chart a clear path on the best way forward in dealing with its investments.

They have requested for a broad base discussion, without which they may be forced to lay down their tools.
