Chief Justice denies Jakpa’s request

The Chief Justice has declined the request by Richard Jakpa to transfer the presiding judge siting on the ambulance case.

The third accused person in the ongoing ambulance trial made this disclosure in this revelation in an interview on Pulse with Elton Brobbey on the Joy News.

In a tensely-worded petition, Richard Jakpa, the third accused person in the ongoing ambulance trial had requested the chief justice to transfer the presiding judge,citing bias and human right breaches.

He stated that the Chief Justice had refused his request on the premise that he could not provide evidence to justify his claim of bias.

According to Mr. Jakpa, being the leader of the judiciary, the Chief Justice was versed with all the powers to ask for all the evidence on his claims from the court, if she was minded to act.

This comes days after the Attorney General completed its 4 days cross examination of Richard Jakpa, who has become notorious for holding abrasive post court interviews.

Subsequently, Mr Jakpa had in media interviews rated the Attorney-general 3 over 10, citing the latter’s lack of understanding of the standards and terms that formed the basis for the prosecution.
