The Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Mr. Samuel Okudezeto Ablakwa has taken a swipe at the government over its handling of the national cathedral issues.
He further described the project as lazy, sleazy and wasteful.
His comment is on the back of statements by the Minister of State in charge of Finance, Mrs. Abena Osei, the Member of Parliament for Atiwa East, who had sought to provide some details on the government’s financial provisions for the project on the floor of parliament.
According to the Minister, the government provided seed funds of GHC 339.3 million and land for the project, as its contribution to the project.
She was however unable to indicate the year such disbursements were made for the project.
But in a reaction to the Minister Statement, the visibly furious anti-corruption campaigner expressed grave misgivings with the huge financial loses the country has incurred pursing, the now botched project.
He rejected claims that government had only spent GHC 339.3 million on the project, describing same as sleazy.
