The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Communications Director, Henry Asante-Twum has said that a new head coach for the Black Stars would be announced soon in January to replace former coach Otto Addo.

Otto Addo left his job as head coach of the Ghana Black Stars after exiting the 2022 Qatar World Cup in the group stage.

In an interview with Asempa Fm, the GFA is now assessing reports from various committees from the World Cup, before a final verdict can be made on who takes over from Otto Addo.

“Ghana FA is now focusing on reports of the various committees of the Black Stars at the World Cup. Once that is done, the new technical team will be set up,” Asante-Twum said.

“I think it will be this month. From the conversations going on, it is very likely a new head coach of the Black Stars will be appointed this month.

“There will be an EXCO meeting soon and everything will be finalised there,” he added.

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will be planning to bring in a new technical team for the Black Stars for the upcoming 2023 AFCON Qualifier against Angola in March.
