The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has reported that one of its officers jumped from the third floor of a building to the ground, which resulted in the breaking of his hands and legs during a rescue.

The Ghana National Fire Service Director of Public Affairs, Timothy Osafo Affum, said in an interview on Onua TV/FM on Wednesday, January 11, 2023.

“While they were fighting the fire, portions of the building collapsed, so he jumped from the third floor to the ground.

“As a result, his legs and hands have been broken but by God’s grace, he is receiving treatment at the Korle-Bu Hospital,” Mr. Osafo-Affum said.

The said building was brought down by the fire on Tuesday evening, January 10, 2023, around 10:00pm on the Accra Graphic road.

However, the cause of the fire is still unknown.
