Reasons to Mobilise Support for the building of National Cathedral remains unchanged – President Nana Addo
The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo has announced that his decision behind mobilising support for the construction of the National Cathedral remains unchanged.
According to him, since Ghana gained independence on March 6, 1957, it has been spared from civil war, famine and epidemics and so the construction of the site he said, would be an act of thanksgiving to the almighty God for his blessings, favour, grace and mercies on the nation.
He added that he promised God a Cathedral if he help him win the 2016 election after 2 unsuccessful attempts.
“I made a pledge to the almighty God that if he was gracious to grant my party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and I victory in the 2016 election after 2 unsuccessful attempts, I’ll help build a cathedral to his glory and honour,” the president said during his visit to the Cathedral site.
President Akufo-Addo paid a working visit to the Cathedral site where he reiterated his commitment to the building of the Cathedral and donated GHC100,000 towards the construction of the building.
According to him, there are at least 71% Ghanaians who are Christians hence, necessitating the need for the construction.
