Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has said that the former President, John Dramani Mahama is going to win the primaries by a landslide victory for his bid to be re-elected as the NDC’s 2024 flagbearer.
He predicted that the former President will be victorious by an estimated 95% of the total valid votes cast.

This was part of the list of predictions which the MP stated on his Facebook account at the beginning of the new year on January 1, 2023, with the party’s primaries.
He showed optimism in Mahama’s ability to win.
“Former President John Mahama will emerge victorious from the 2023 NDC Flagbearer Primaries with more than 95% of valid votes cast,” he stated in his first statement.
“Former President John Mahama is expected to retain Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang as his Running Mate for the 2024 presidential election,” the Member of Parliament added.
Aside the NDC primaries, he also predicted that the National Cathedral project will be abandoned.
According to him, the economic woes will see a continued deterioration which will result in more agitations from citizens.
Former President John Dramani Mahama is preparing to lead the National Democratic Congress to capture power from the NPP in the 2024 polls.
Even though the former president has not formally declared his interest to lead the party, there have been many reports including an overwhelming majority of NDC MPs who have repeatedly confirmed that they will support the former President.
Even though the former President has not voiced out yet, the patronage of Mahama’s campaign trial increases.
Some people in the party thinks NDC’s chances of winning the 2024 elections will be more realistic with the emergence of a new candidate other than the former President.
According to these people in the party, John Mahama’s appeal has dwindled amongst Ghanaians because of the many scandals that rocked his government between 2012 and 2016 when he was voted out of power.
