Tennis superstar Andy Murray in a post on his twitter page ended the long back and forth GOAT argument with the post; “Is Messi the best athlete of all time? Forget just football. What a man.”

The British athlete who was also Tennis world number one in a previous post had jabbed British journalist Piers Morgan, who has for a while now openly shown his dislike for the Argentine winning the World Cup and siding with Team Ronaldo on the (Greatest of All Time) GOAT debate since interviewing rival Cristiano Ronaldo on Piers Morgan Uncensored.

In the post he wrote, “Not sure that @FIFAWorldCup could have gone any worse for you @piersmorgan.”

The Greatest of All Time Debate has long been a cause of disagreement among football fans, with fans disputing on the numbers of Ballon D’ors each player has, trophies they have been able to lift with their clubs and country. However, neither player has ever picked the World Cup and Lionel Messi picking it in Qatar yesterday sealed the for many on who the Greatest footballer of all time is.

To answer Andy Murray’s question on whether Lionel Messi is the Greatest Athlete of All Time, American boxer Jake Paul added his voice to the debate saying on his Twitter page “Hard to admit as an American …but Messi may be the greatest athlete ever, 5’7, 148 pounds… Greatest non-penalty scorer of all time, greatest assister of all time. In a sport that has more people playing it than any other. GAOAT.”  He however admits that Muhammad Ali is the most impactful athlete.

Barack Obama also on a Twitter post, quoted FIFA’s post on the trophy winner with the statement “Congrats to Argentina and to the GOAT, Lionel Messi, for an amazing World Cup victory.”
