Police in Mankessim has finally arrested the second suspect involved in the killing of the nursing trainee student, Georgina Asor Botchwey, who got missing 3weeks ago.
Nana Clark, the Tufohene of Ekumfi Akwakrom was arrested in his village near Ekumfi Akwakrom.
According to police report, he was hiding at his girlfriend’s house in that village where some community members identified him and reported to the police.
A journalist narrating the incident to Adom news on Thursday, September 21, 2022, the chief is said to have divorced his wife but now lives with his children in the same apartment where he committed the crime.
He is now in police custody helping the police with investigations.
Meanwhile, new report coming in from the police is that there are some other suspects involved in the act.
However, investigations are ongoing to make sure they are arrested and brought to book.
Early September this year, a nursing trainee student, Georgina Asor Botchwey, was said to have gone for an interview in Cape Coast and never returned.
Her family circulated her pictures on social media which led to the arrest of the victim’s elder sister’s boyfriend also a pastor and a chief of Ekumfi Akwakrom.
It was reported that the two had kidnapped and killed the victim after they had picked her from Ankaful with a taxi after her interview.
Her body was however exhumed from one of the rooms in the chief’s house.
It was believed that the two decided to use her for rituals.
