Six suspected armed men arrested in connection with series of robberies in Greater Accra, Central region
The Ghana Police Service through a targeted intelligence-led operation between April 15 to April 17, have arrested six suspected armed robbers in connection with a series of armed robberies including carjacking in Ghana.
According to a statement released and signed by Supt. Alexander Kwaku Obeng, Director of Public Affairs on April 18, 2022, the six suspects, Jibrila Musa alias Danturi, Hussain Sampa, Daniel Acquah, Anthony Sackey, Michael Ojo and Ade Banjor were however arrested at various locations in the Greater Accra and Central regions of Ghana, with items like one (1) locally manufactured gun, one (1) foreign pistol, a cache of ammunition, two iphones, four (4) wristwatches and one stolen vehicle retrieved from them.
Meanwhile, the suspects admitted to their crimes during interrogations and are however assisting the police in investigations.
The police in the statement further indicated that, “it has made contact with some of the victims as part of its strategy to give them closure with regards to their unpleasant experiences with these armed robbers”.
They added that, “we would like to commend the Anti-Robbery Squad at the CID Headquarters for leading this operation.”
“All criminals and their cohorts must advise themselves and know that they can run but they can never hide. The Police will do whatever it takes to come after them and bring them to justice”.
They therefore assured the general public of their commitment in providing a peaceful and safe environment for all Ghanaians.
