The Executive Director of Africa Education Watch, Kofi Asare has lamented the lack of long-term plan for Ghana’s educational sector.
According to him, the ad hoc and political way of carving out educational policies will not be helpful in the long run.
He made these observations in a Zoom Meeting on Ghana’s Education Under Review, with the Institute for Education Studies.
He further stressed on the need for educational policies to be good enough to outlive the political administration that instituted same.
He observed that sometimes, educational policies are tied to the apron spring of political administrations.
Kofi Asare further described as political the government’s decision to approve a common core curricular for basic schools in the country.
‘’If we are planning natin building, we should look beyond the next elections,’’ he added.
