A Former Minister of Information, Mr. Stephen Asamoah Boateng downplayed assertions that the heated tension in parliament will degenerate into a full blown acrimony.
‘’We are Ghanaian. We are one people. We do not fight. Yes, things can get heated but it simmers with time,’’ he remarked.
He was speaking in a wide raging interviews with Kafui Dei on GTV’s Breakfast Show, he urged the Majority to find ways to get the Minority to soften their stands on the budget.
The 2022 budget statement and Economic policy has been at the center of controversy in recent weeks.
The Minority had rejected the budget, a decision which was overturned subsequently by the Majority.
This has since caused pockets of tension between members of parliament.
But Speaking to Kafui Dey, Asabee, as he is affectionately called, noted that the Majority would have done same, if they were in the position of the Minority.
The Director General of State Interest and Governance Authority, who is lacing his booths to contest the Chairmanship position of the N.PP, called cool heads to prevail.
‘’In Parliament, the number games matter. Under the cisrcumstance of this numbers, the Majorityh is left with no option than to co-operate and compromise. You cannot win it all. You have to win some and let some go,’’ he advised.
