Sources have confirmed that many students of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ) have contacted the deadly coronavirus.
The students are said to have been infected with the virus during the face-to-face teaching and learning process before the school started using online platforms for teaching and learning.
Some of the students who are currently under treatment expressed their disappointment in the school because it failed to measures in place in protect the students’ lives.
The school is eexpected to resume the face-to-face interaction in August but some students have expressed fear and wondering if their lives would be in danger. The students are at the moment, preparing for their mid-semester exams which would be face to face. This has pushed some students to ask the school to rethink and remake the decision aa it could be a breeding ground for spreading the virus especially when the new Delta variant is causing havoc in some schools.
It is however uncertain whether the school would go by the timetable for the semester and resume with the face-to-face teaching and learning process.
