Chiefs from the Zongo communities in the Ashanti Region have extended their help to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II against the fight on galamsey.
Their motive for this is to reduce illegal mining activities that is causing harm to them, their farms and water bodies.
The Chiefs expressed themselves at the Manhyia Palace during the last Akwasidae Kese of the year 2022. They hoped that by the end of next year, he would be able to safeguard the region from illegal activities destroying their farms and water bodies.
Personalities who graced the event included; Sultan Omar Farouk Saeed-Sarkin Zango, Alhaji Abdullahi Ali Barry Zongo Nkosuohene and Shaibu MB Suleman – Spokesman of Zongo.
Alhaji Abdullahi, Zongo Nkosuohene, thanked the Asantehene for letting them grace such an event with their presence and hoped that next year would be better for them.
Other dignitaries included were; General Asiedu Nketiah, National Chairman of the Opposition Party, National Democratic Congress(NDC), Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Former Ashanti Regional Minister, Joseph Yamin, National Youth Organizer, Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Simon Osei Mensah and other Chiefs inside and outside the region.
