Eight teenagers kill homeless man in Toronto

The incident occurred when the teenagers approached a lady for alcohol but the 59 years old man, living in a sheltered house,sensed the danger and wanted to shield her leading to his death.

They were allegedly believed to have been in an earlier altercation on the day of the incident with another person.

He was stabbed in his stomach and died in the hospital he was admitted to, by a group of bystanders who called in for an emergency and was attended to by the police.

“I didn’t know if they had a knife or what, I was just scared,” she said.

The lady rushed to seek help and refuge from a shelter nearby after the incident. 

The identity of the ladies between the ages of 13 and 16, have been hidden from the public by the Canadian law but have been charged with second degree murder on Sunday.

The police in charge of the incident at the time, said what happened was a “swarming-type behavior,” and doesn’t classify them as a gang.

He also said the girls were not friends but actually met through social media of which some of them had also had an encounter with the police.

The mayor of Toronto, mayor John Tory, expressed his worry on the situation and gives his condolence to the relatives and friends of the man.

“I am extremely troubled by the young age of those accused and by the number of people allegedly involved in this murder,” Mayor said.
