The Trades Union Congress, TUC, has admonished both the Minority and Majority sides of parliament to build consensus and work together in the interest of the country.
This admonition was contained in the Union’s End of Year Message, signed by the General Secretary of the Union, Dr. Yaw Baah.
The eighth parliament has been host to a number of untoward conducts.
This trend degenerated and took a nose-dive on December 21,2021, when some members of both sides of the divide were seen in a unpleasant fisticuff over the passage of the Electronic Transaction Levy bill.
In their statement, the Union expressed disquiet with pockets of skirmishes that characterized the Parliamentary work of the eighth parliament, and called on parliamentarians to close their ranks in the nation’s interest.
The Union further congratulated all workers for their immeasurable contribution to the economic development of the country.
