Afrifanom Group Rewards Two Outstanding Students

Afrifanom Group, a Pan-African firm with well- established roots in Software Development, Content Aggregation and Agribusiness, has made cash prizes donation to the Best Graduating students of the Computer Science Department of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

The award scheme, which is expected to run for the some years, is consistent with Afrifanom’s aim of supporting long-term socio-economic growth of Ghana.

 At the university’s 55th congregation, Miss Susan Tochukwu Anukem – the overall best female graduating student and Mr. Frederick Obah Lateo – the overall best graduating student each received a cash prize of GH¢5000.

This was also capped with one-year intensive national service opportunity with the firm.

In a presentation ceremony, Professor Leonard Amekudzi – Provost of College of Sciences at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology applauded the firm for the gesture and remarked that such opportunities are in the right direction. He further urged corporate bodies to extend internship opportunities to more students as a way of helping to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

For his part, Chief Executive Officer of Afrifanom Limited, Nana Osei Afrifa stressed the importance of education, noting that same is a catalyst for Ghana’s development.

He remarked that the country’s future economic development and prosperity is closely linked with students’ success in the technology space as it is the main vehicle for innovation and industrial development in this data-driven world.

 ‘’This is the basis of our focus on supporting young students to strive for academic excellence to become great professionals.’’ He added.

He took turns to congratulate the recipients, and challenged the students to make worthwhile the efforts and investment being made in their future.
