President Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo has been presented with the African of the Year Award.
The Award was presented to the president by Forbes Africa Magazine.
In a short by colorful ceremony at the Presidency, the President can be seen beaming with smile as he takes the plague and citation accompanying the Award.
By the Award, the president joins an enviable league of some distinguished awardees of the award. This includes Rwandan President Paul Kagame (2018), African Development Bank president Akinwumi Adesina (2019) and Ngozi Okonjdirector-generalor general of the World Trade Organization (2020).
The African of the year award, which is in its fourth year, recognises Africans who have made an impact on the continent and the world stage.
The latest issue of the magazine said President Akufo-Addo has “repositioned the country in the global marketplace as one reliant on its own resources and strengths.”
Capping an already exciting evening for the president, he President of the US National Bar Association, Judge Carlos E. Moore, also presented a “Lifetime Achievement Award to to President Nana Addo.
The Award was also in recognition of his initiative to provide free quality education to students which will help with the broader development of Ghana, as highlighted in Goal 4 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
