A section of the public has descended heavily on an NDC Youth Group, Operations Recover All Loot, (ORAL), describing their action as irrelevant and hooliganism.
This follows the group’s planned picketing at the Ministry of Finance, which event turned rancorous and chaotic.
Whereas some social media enthusiasts have called the group’s credibility into question, some have heavily criticized the group for indulging in needless partisan politics on matters of national importance.
According to the leadership of the group, the planned picketing at the Ministry of Finance was aimed at demanding accountability from the Ministry over contracts, it considered as bloated.
Ahead of the picketing, organizers had falsely represented themselves on Kalijay’s X Space conversation, calling themselves as a group of lawyers.
Clad in NDC colors and paraphernalia, the group, comprising NDC fanatics from mostly the Odododiodoo constituency, made its way to the Ministry of Finance to present their petition. However, things turned rancorous when the group decided to vary the route as earlier agreed with the police.
But reacting to the picketing and the associated pandemonium, several netizens expressed worry with the group’s violent approach for seeking for accountability.
Some also called to question the credibility and the motives of the group, which is led by the Deputy Youth Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, one Osman Abdulai Ayariga.
