Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has promise to transformed Ghana’s energy sector, promising to reduce the cost of electricity by 50%
According to the flagbearer of the ruling new patriotic party, his government will prioritize the use of solar powered energy sources to reduce the cost of electricity in Ghana.
He promised to add 2000 megawatts of solar power to Ghana’s generation mix.
He was speaking at the star-studded Ofie Walk in the Akuapem North Constituency in the Eastern region.
The event drew supporters from Akropong and its environs, aside from assembling several celebrities, including Asamoah Gyan, Prince David Osei, Obour and Kalyboss.
Dr. Bawumia also promised to also transform the transport sector as well.
‘‘I am coming to transform public transport. We are going to move from dependent on fuel, Diesel and Petrol, to electric vehicles. This is what is trendy.,’’ he added.
He reiterated his promise to advance tax amnesty to individual and businesses who have defaulted in redeeming their tax obligations.
