GFA plans on elevating women’s league

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) says it is working on ways to bring out the profile of the Women’s League by using their games as a prelude to the men’s Ghana Premier League matches.

According to GFA, the decision will form part of the associations plans to elevate the women’s football and make it more attractive in Ghana.

Prosper Harrison Addo, the general Secretary of the (GFA) Ghana Football Association made these statements at a press conference on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, ahead of the Women’s Premier League resuming.

“We are also exploring to see if we can get some of the matches as curtain raisers for the men’s game,” Prosper Harrison said.

“I know there are various challenges there, sometimes the men are not welcoming, we understand but we will continue to push that agenda because it is only right that we have some of these matches as curtain raisers,” he added.

The Womens Premier League resumes for the second half of the season on January 27, 2023.
