Police begins investigation into mysterious death of a son, mother in Gomoa

The Millennium City Police Command has started investigations into the incident that led to the demise of both a mother and son at Green Estate, a suburb of Nyame N’ Adom in the Gomoa East District.

The woman, who was between the ages of 48 and 50, and her son identified as Alexander Ofori also 28, were found dead in their three-bedroom apartment last Saturday, January 7, 2023, after a strong smell, coming from the house according to residents who reported the incident to the police.

When the Police got to the scene, it was discovered that the two, whose bodies were nearly decomposed, had died several days before their discovery. Their bodies are now deposited at the morgue.

In an interview with a resident who spoke with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the last time she saw the woman who managed a pub together with her son in the area, was late afternoon on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

The Chairman of the Residents’ Association of Gomoa Nyame N’ Adom, Mr James Amuah, told the GNA that a cousin of the woman told the association that the woman was missing in action after calling her several times on her phone.

She then went up to the house on Friday night (January 6) in search of her but the house was not accessible.
