Owner of PSG wants to buy Tottenham

Owner of Qatar’s Sporting Investment group who also owns the French team, Paris saint German has had a meeting with Tottenham owner in plans of acquiring the team.

There are Sources close to Nasser al-Khelaifi, the chairman of Qatar Sports Investments (QSI) and president of Paris Saint-Germain.

They have confirmed that the chairman met Daniel Levy also the chairman of Tottenham, in London last week. 

There are also reports linking QSI in interest of a potential acquisition of Liverpool or Manchester United.

In the European club football rules, it forbids a team with the same owner from taking part in the same competition for valid reasons. 

However, minority stakes are considered and a series of them are permitted to be on the cards for Qatar State Investment vehicle in sports.

The Qatar State Investment vehicle in sports owns PSG, 22% of Braga in the Portuguese league and also have investment in padel tennis, a sport Khelaifi plays to a high standard.

 It is believed that QSI thinks it is now a good time to invest in the biggest domestic league in the world of football .

Even though Tottenham are QSI’s first priority, it is said that two other consortiums are interested in buying a stake in the club, which are drowning in debts after the construction of their new stadium.
