The members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Asawasi Constituency in a press conference held at Aboabo called on to the executive members of the party, to call the Member of Parliament (MP), Honourable Muntaka Mubarak to order.

The party members complained of the MP’s interference in the Constituency executive elections and how he openly campaigned against Mr. Faisal Dauda, the Constituency Chairman-elect.

Speaking to Citi News, the spokesperson for the NDC Youth in Asawasi, Mr. Harris Umar said the MP created factions in the party by declaring he was going to resign if Mr. Faisal Dauda was voted party chairman.

“There have been audios which we will tender as evidence where the MP was saying if this Chairman was elected, Faisal Dauda, he (the MP) is either resigning or make his administration very ungovernable. Currently we are actually living the reality of what he said.”

The Youth spokesperson added that their call on the National executives is for the current constant disagreement between factions to be resolved.

When asked what exactly he wanted to be done, he said he wanted them to call the MP to order so the elected Chairman can operate in his capacity as party chairman.

Other members of the party in Asawasi led by Issah Ali, who also held a press conference yesterday said the MP remains their preferred leader.

According to him, “It is quite unfortunate that some people would want to fight our hardworking MP over a clear case of assault thinking that would make him unpopular.”

He added that no amount of lies peddled against the MP would lessen their love for him.
