The Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie is alleged to have made a submission of his resignation to the president room on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
The Minister officially resigns as a result of his decision and aspirations of becoming the president of the country.
Dr. Owusu Afriyie wants to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2024 general elections and his resignation shows how serious he is with his ambitions.
The current President accepted his resignation and also wished him well in his journey of becoming the leader of the NPP as the 2024 elections approaches.
A Trend of ministers resigning to follow their Presidential ambitions have been seen in the past weeks. The Trade minister Alan Kyerematen also resigned to pursue his presidential ambitions.
