A curfew has been placed on Bomaa in Northern Tano by the Ahafo Regional Minister, George Boakye with immediate effect.

This was done with the help of the members of the Regional Security Council and in consultation with the Interior Minister and the National Security Minister.

The decision was taken by the Ahafo REGSEC because of the recent clashes that claimed one life and injured five on Sunday January 8, 2023.

“The curfew shall be in force from 5pm to 7am daily, pending periodic assessments and reviews.” the Minister said.

The one person who lost his life died by a gunshot following the dispute in the community.

The incident occurred as a result of disagreement between two families in the town over who takes the place of the late chief of the town.

Others also got injured in the clash and were sent to the hospital for treatment.
