Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has met with the President of the United State, Joe Biden making it his first visit abroad since the war started in Ukraine .
Ukraine has been at war with Russia for months now and this has affected the economic state and it’s people who have been in torment and in fear ever since the president of Russia Vladimir Putin, raged war on people of Ukrainian.
The Ukrainian President’s visit to the US was met with a warm welcome by the US President Joe Biden and his officials.
One of the main reasons of his visit was in regards to the $50 billion dollars aid being given to the Ukrainian government by the US government.
$5 billion has already been received awaiting the $45 billion which the US Congress is yet to approve.
According to Ukrainian president, aid is not charity but an investment that would go a long way to help the Ukrainian country.
“This aid from the US government is not charity but an investment that would go a long way to help the Ukrainian country,” he said.
He added that they are fighting against tyranny and for democracy to prevail, he asked the US to supply defense systems to aid them in attaining this freedom.
He also said they did not believe it would even escalate into Christmas and requests for the US to guide them in attaining victory in the war.
The visit of the Ukrainian president and a meeting with the US Congress makes him the second world leader to meet a US Congress since Winston Churchill.
