Some players may miss Ghana’s second group game at the 2022 FIFA World Cup against South Korea on Monday, November 28, due to yellow cards.
Captain Andre Ayew, Mohammed Kudus, Inaki Williams, and Alidu Seidu are the four players who could miss the final group game against Uruguay if they receive yellow cards against South Korea.
On Thursday, November 24, the four players were booked during the Black Stars’ first match against Portugal at the Stadium 974.
Kudus was shown a yellow card in the first half for a foul on Joao Cancelo, while Seidu was cautioned for a late challenge on Joao Felix.
Ayew was cautioned four minutes after the break, while Inaki was cautioned for an argument after colliding with Danilo Pereira late in the game.
The four players must now escape being carded when Otto Addo’s team takes on South Korea in a game that is a must-win for the Black Stars if they are to advance to the World Cup knockout rounds.
The Black Stars are the only team in Group H without a point, having fallen to Portugal in the opening round of matches, while South Korea and Uruguay drew 0-0.
Ghana’s match against South Korea will begin at 13:00 GMT.
