Sir John’s Achimota lands not in our records – Lands Commission

The Executive Secretary of the Lands Commission, James Dadson has told the media on Monday, May 23, 2022 that there is no records showing that the late CEO of the Forestry Commission, Sir John, also known as Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie owned some portions of lands in the Achimota forest as long as their records are concerned.

“There is nothing in our records concerning that. What you read is what I have read. We don’t have anything recorded here for Sir John as far as our records are concerned”, he said.

This however comes after the late CEO’s last Will which had him sharing lands and some properties among his family members and loved ones leaked.

This however brought a lot of controversies with some Ghanaians describing the leaked document as fake.

Meanwhile, hundreds of documents, computers, and scanners at the Head Office of the Lands Commission in Cantonments, Accra, have been destroyed by floodwaters following Saturday night’s, May 21, 2022 downpour. The Records, Files, and I.T Rooms were all flooded destroying items like indentures, land maps, and land documents.
