Ahead of its Mid-week Carabao Cup quarter-final battle against Brentford, the Chelsea Manager has ruled out three of his gallant men out of the fixture.
In his media conference today ahead of Wednesday night’s game, Tuchel mentioned that N’Golo Kante, Andreas Christensen and Trevoh Chalobah are major doubts.
Kante, who returned for the blues on their Sunday’s stalemate with Wolves, played 90 minutes for the team, despite not having fully recovered from a knee-injury.
‘What we did with N’Golo Kante for 90 minutes was close to irresponsible,’ Tuchel said in his media conference today ahead of Wednesday night’s game. ‘Will he be involved against Brentford? Simply no. We cannot do this and I will not do it, Tuchel stated.
‘We will now give him time to recover and prepare for Aston Villa and this is the situation.Andreas is very doubtful with injury and the same for Trevoh Chalobah,’ Tuchel confirmed.
Due to a number of positive covid cases and a handful of injury concerns, the boss cast his eye over the academy camp and handpicked a few lucky winners to join first-team training.
