The 46th Sports Writers Award has been held, with Samuel Takyi Mensah, emerging as the Sports Personality of the Year.
The event was held at the International Conference Centre, on Friday December 2021.
The Sports Writers Award recognizes outstanding sportsmen and women in the country in the year under review.
The short but colorful event, brought together many sport personalities from different sporting disciplines.
The star-studded event was graced by H.E Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Youth and Sports Minister, Hon Mustapha Ussif, the Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, and the Chief of Asogli Traditional Area and Hearts of Oak bankroller, Togbe Afede XIV
President of SWAG and a veteran Sports Journalist, Kwabena Yeboah, was also present with members of the SWAG team.
On the Night, Samuel Takyi, a Bronze Medal Winner at 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, took home the ultimate, emerging as the Sports Personality of the Year Award.
Takyi also walked home with the coveted best Amateur Boxer Award.
