The Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development has donated 41 motor bikes to Assembly members in the Asunafo South District in the Ahafo region of Ghana.
This move is to support the work and transportation of the Assembly members in the district.
Ho. George Boakye, the Ahafo regional Minister, who made this donation on behalf of the Ministry of Local government and rural development, thanked the President, Nana Addo Danquah for such thoughtful and kind gesture to his district.
He also expressed appreciation to the Ministry of Local government for penciling his district out for such support.
Hon. Boakye indicated government’s commitment to alleviate the plights of people in the Asunafo South District.
He noted that the donation is aimed at deepening and strengthening local governance practices and decentralization in the country.
He said that the motorbikes will assist the Assembly members on their rounds to explain government policies and programmes of the Assembly to the people at the local level.
He also asked the Assembly members to maintain the motorbikes and use them for their intended purposes.
