Director for Creative Arts at the National Commission on Culture(NCC), Socrate Sarfo, has expressed misgiving with how the media in the Entertainment industry appears to take interest in publishing unfounded stories.
He decried the sensationalism that appears to be a major part of Entertainment journalism in the country.
He made this comments on Peace FM’s Entertainment Show Program.
The veteran Producer was responding to news of a GHC 500, 000 defamatory damage awarded against Mona Gucci for publishing defamatory statements against Yvonne Nelson.
Reports have it that Mona Gucci has been ordered to pay GHC 500, 000 to Yvonne Nelson for making defamatory comment.
This was after several attempts to serve summons and have Mona Gucci appear in court, proved futile.
Commenting on the matter, he commended Yvonne Nelson for taking the matter up in court.
‘‘The change we seek in the Entertainment industry started like this. The advancements we see in other creative markets started like this,’’ he remarked.
He cautioned players in the Entertainment sector against making unfounded allegations against their colleagues.
