In an interesting twist of event, the Criminal Court 1 Division of the High Court has thrown out an appeal by lawyers of actress Akuapem Poloo, also known as Rosemond Brown.
The net effect of this development is that Akuapem Poloo will have to be hurled back to serve the remainder of her 90-day custodian sentence. The budding social media actvisit will have to spend the next 3-month in jail
As it can be recalled in June 2020 Akuapem Poloo was charged for publishing obscene material with her seven-year-old son on social media.
Her lawyers challenged the ruling that had committed Akuapem Poloo into prison custody by an Accra Circuit Court for publishing obscene material and violating the dignity and integrity of her seven-year-old son.
She was subsequently granted a GH¢80,000 cedis bail, pending the hearing of the appeal.
However, in its ruling Criminal Court 1 Division of the High Court,presided over by Justice Aryeetey, on December 1, 2021, dismissed appeal, found the appeal as lacking merit, hence dismissal.
